The name TEK might be new to you, but not the person behind it. – Martin Spencer formerly of M.I. Designs has been involved in the sport of kayaking both at the competition end and as a manufacturer of kayaks, paddles and accessories for over 30 years. In 1993 he formed Rototek Ltd with a custom built state of the art rotational moulding machine surpassing many that were commercially available. The Company soon established itself as a high quality industrial trade moulder and as orders outstripped production investment was made in a succession of extra moulding machines. Rototek today employs over 40 people and operates 5 rotational moulding machines 24 hours per day, 6 days a week.
The latest moulding machine is one of the largest in Europe and is able to mould items up to 5 metres long and 2 metres in diameter. The first product from this production line was a large sailing dinghy for Racing Sailboats of Eastleigh, Hampshire. This range has since grown to comprise three dinghy models. To make this product successfully Rototek has designed its own "windows" based control software, which is now widely used by other manufacturers in the kayak and dinghy industry to produce some internationally well known brands.
With over 10 years experience in rotomoulding, and 30 years experience of the kayak industry, it was a natural progression to produce a range of "TEK" kayaks and accessories, a brand which continues to grow year on year.
